Part-Time Engineering Intern (Chemistry / Materials / Bio)

Role Overview

We are seeking highly motivated, hands-on interns with backgrounds in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related fields. This role involves experimental work, materials testing, data collection, and supporting R&D workflows. The ideal candidate is curious, self-driven, and comfortable working in a lab environment while communicating results to a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and business stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support laboratory experiments related to materials development and characterization
  • Prepare, test, and analyze material samples
  • Operate lab equipment and measurement instruments under supervision
  • Record, organize, and interpret experimental data
  • Assist in prototype development and performance testing
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized lab environment
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot materials and process challenges
  • Contribute to documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts


Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of polymers, composites, or materials characterization techniques
  • Prior lab or research experience (academic or industry) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow protocols and safety procedures
  • Comfortable working hands-on with lab equipment and experimental setups
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
